Yes, we will only choose winners that have made a formal application to The New School (received by the New School for Public Engagement no later than April 1, 2014) and have been accepted into the school.
Student Competitions is involved in the first selection process where 20 finalists will be chosen. However, Student Competitions does not have any role in the final selection of the winners. The participating schools hold full responsibility for nominating the winners.

No. We only accept entries from individuals. This as the scholarships are awarded on individual basis.
The scholarship covers tuition and fee charges only. It does not cover housing, living expenses or food plans.

You are unfortunately not eligible to compete if you are currently enrolled as a student at the New School.
You cannot prepare for the case beforehand, but once you get the question, there will be no time restriction. You have until the deadline of the competition to finish your case solution. The case solution will be used as a tie-breaker, so make sure to spend sufficient time on it!

Yes, all participants who submit a full challenge will receive a digital certificate sent to his/her email upon completing the challenge.
Make sure the documents you are submitting are either .pdf or .jpg and do not exceed the 2MB limit. Furthermore, do not use special characters (such as á,à,ä,ó) to name your documents. If you upload a video url, make sure the url address is correct and valid.
